ITINERARY:
1st day:
Arrival in Lucerne - the heart of Switzerland – by train 1st class from the Swiss border or airport. Overnight in Lucerne.
2nd day:
Day at leisure in Lucerne. Overnight in Lucerne.
3rd day:
Train journey from Lucerne to Lugano. Experience the new Gotthard Base Tunnel - with its 57 kilometres it is the longest train tunnel in the world. It takes only 17 minutes to travel this fast flat-track route under the Alpine massif in the heart of Europe. Continue from Bellinzona to Lugano. Overnight in Lugano.
4th day:
The Bernina Express of the Rhaetian Railway takes you along the UNESCO World Heritage route. Enjoy an Alpine switchback ride, taking you from a land of swaying palms to one of towering glaciers. Overnight in St. Moritz.
5th day:
Board the Glacier Express and enjoy one of the greatest rail journeys in the world. This rail journey takes you across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2033 m. Overnight in Zermatt.
6th day:
An incomparable experience awaits you today: The Zermatt Bergbahnen AG takes you up to the highest cable car station in Europe on 12’739 ft. The 360° panorama is unique and do not miss their new highlights: Snow-Tubing, Cinema Lounge, Glacier palace, Peak Shop, Viewing platform.Overnight in Zermatt.
7th day:
Rail journey to Montreux on the shore of Lake Geneva in the French part of Switzerland. Overnight in Montreux.
8th day:
The GoldenPassLine train takes you through mountain villages to the Bernese Oberland. Overnight in Interlaken.
9th day:
The journey to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, at 3454 metres Europe’s highest altitude railway station, is a highlight of your visit to Switzerland. It offers visitors a highAlpine wonderworld of ice, snow and rock, which can be marvelled at from vantage terraces, the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. Overnight in Interlaken. 10th day:
Take the train to the lakeside discovery metropolis Zurich and enjoy some time at leisure. Overnight in Zurich.
11th day:
Return to Swiss border or airport or continue your stay in Switzerland at your own request.
