ITINERARY:
1st day:
Arrival in Interlaken by train 2nd class from the Swiss border or any Swiss airport. Overnight in Interlaken.
2nd day:
Day at leisure. Take the opportunity and book an optional excursion to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe – at 3454 m/11’333 ft the highest railway in Europe. We can recommend another breath-taking excursion to Schilthorn / Piz Gloria (3000 m/10’000 ft) with its unique revolving panorama restaurant and its thrilling James Bond 007 history. Overnight in Interlaken.
3rd day:
Rail trip by Brünig Express from Interlaken to Lucerne. Overnight in Lucerne.
4th day:
Today you take a lake Lucerne cruise from Lucerne to Alpnachstad, then up to the Pilatus Kulm 2132/7000 ft by the steepest cogwheel railway in the world (from app. mid April/May to November, during winter you take the bus from Lucerne to Kriens and further with a panoramic gondola from Kriens to Pilatus). Time at leisure. Overnight in Lucerne.
5th day:
Train journey from Lucerne to Lugano. Experience the new Gotthard Base Tunnel - with its 57 kilometres it is the longest train tunnel in the world. It takes only 17 minutes to travel this fast flat-track route under the Alpine massif in the heart of Europe.
6th day:
Day at leisure. A big variety of attractive excursion opportunities are waiting for you such as e.g. Swissminiatur in Melide. Overnight in Lugano.
7th day:
Take the train to Zurich. Day at leisure. Downtown Switzerland offers a range of things to do i.e. excellent shopping or just relax at the beautiful lakeside. Overnight in Zurich.
8th day:
Return to Swiss border or airport or continue your stay in Switzerland at your own request.
